Once an order is received for an item and funds have cleared, you can expect your item to ship from our warehouse within 1-2 business days for most of the items we sell. The Eventuri VW Golf MK8 GTI Black Carbon Intake System is engineered for the fourth-generation EA888 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, replacing the factory intake assembly with a high-flow carbon fiber system extending toward the turbocharger inlet. Developed to increase airflow capacity while limiting exposure to engine bay heat, the intake combines Eventuri's patented Venturi filter housing, a larger-diameter inlet tube, and a sealed front air duct. Separate configurations are available for US-spec and rest-of-world GTI models.
The factory GTI intake incorporates a 73mm inlet tube, which Eventuri replaces with a 94mm internal-diameter carbon fiber tube. This increase in cross-sectional area reduces a potential restriction in the intake tract, particularly as airflow demand increases. The patented Venturi housing surrounds a reverse-mounted, high-flow filter and incorporates a progressive internal transition toward the inlet tube, reducing abrupt changes in airflow geometry.
The bespoke dry air filter measures 192mm in outer diameter and provides more than 110,000mm² of filtration surface area. The housing and intake tube are matched to a 94mm internal diameter, providing a continuous airflow path designed to accommodate the demands of factory and higher-output turbocharger configurations.
Cold-air delivery is managed through a full-width pre-preg carbon fiber inlet duct that seals against the front slam panel. In addition to utilizing the factory front air entry, the duct incorporates a supplementary opening behind the hood, providing an additional air entry area equivalent to a 7-inch-diameter opening. This configuration increases the available ambient air supply while helping isolate the filter from heated engine bay air.
Eventuri evaluated the GTI intake using a SuperFlow SF-1020 flow bench at a pressure differential of 28 inches of water. Under the same controlled test conditions, the factory GTI intake measured 435 CFM, compared with 618 CFM for the Eventuri system. This represents an approximately 42% increase in measured maximum airflow capacity. These figures are specific to the GTI intake configuration and are not derived from Golf R testing.
Manufactured using pre-preg carbon fiber intake components and application-specific mounting hardware, the system is offered in two regional configurations. The US-spec version includes a secondary breather filter and dedicated mounting bracket for the North American crankcase ventilation arrangement, while the rest-of-world version is configured for its corresponding vehicle application.
